Brutal and Unlawful Killing of Mr Azilebong by bulu occupation forces.

April 26, 2025, Fontem, Libialem State, Northern Ambazonia: Cameroon Occupation Forces committed a grave violation of International Laws and human rights. Mr. Azilebong, an Ambazonian civilian, was abducted by Cameroon Occupation Forces several months ago. Without any legal process or justification, he was subjected to severe torture and ultimately killed. This unlawful act constitutes a war crime under International Humanitarian Law, which prohibits the targeting of civilians and requires due process in any legal action against individuals.

Widespread Abductions and Disappearances

The case of Mr. Azilebong is not an isolated incident. Across Ambazonia, there is a growing pattern of enforced disappearances, where civilians are abducted by Cameroon Occupation Forces without warrants or formal charges. These individuals are often detained incommunicado, tortured, or permanently disappeared. These actions violate the Geneva Conventions and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which protect against arbitrary detention and uphold the right to life and dignity.

Systematic Extortion and Daily Oppression

In addition to extrajudicial killings and abductions, Cameroon Occupation Forces regularly extort money from innocent Ambazonian civilians. Through threats, illegal checkpoints, and unlawful detention, they demand bribes in exchange for freedom or safety. This daily harassment further compounds the suffering of the population and breaches both International Laws and basic human rights standards. The Fourth Geneva Convention clearly prohibits the exploitation of civilians in occupied territories.

A Clear Violation of International Norms

The ongoing conduct of Cameroon Occupation Forces in Ambazonia clearly constitutes war crimes and crimes against humanity. The deliberate targeting of civilians, including acts of torture, murder, and extortion, directly violates International Laws, including the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. These actions not only defy human rights principles but also highlight the urgent need for international intervention and accountability.

Call for Justice and Accountability

Ambazonians continue to suffer under a violent and unlawful occupation. The international community must recognize these atrocities for what they are serious breaches of International Laws and take immediate steps to hold Cameroon Occupation Forces accountable. Justice for victims like Mr. Azilebong is long overdue.
